Welcome To My Website

My desire is to create paintings that people want to stop and look at because they are both interesting and “pleasing to the eye.” My painting style would therefore be termed realism as opposed to painterly, abstract or impressionism.

Although my focus has been painting New Zealand landscapes, I am planning to “expand my horizons.”

I started off painting in acrylics because of the faster drying times but have moved to oils because of the clarity of the oil colours along with the fact that they maintain their brightness

Enjoy your visit to my website and please contact me if you wish to discuss purchasing a painting or if there is anything that you would like to commission me to paint.

Go well, keep well and keep safe. Peter

Lucas Creek Waterfall: work in progress (3)

I have made changes to the composition of this painting because the scene had a very over-crowded & busy background & it was hard to find a focal point. This simpler composition works well I think & gives a better perspective...

I’ve finally made some time for moving on with this interesting project. It will take some time to get the waterfall done as it is not a rushing flow so there is a lot of detail to put in but I am looking forward to spending the time...
