Old Dinghy

Oil on archival canvas mounted on board450 x 600mm unframed size$2000.00 with white, custom designed, double frame I was keen to paint this scene mainly because of the broody skies which are very powerful! However, the lonely dinghy sitting in the dune grasses is also interesting & I found myself wondering about the stories it could tell.  Click here to go to this painting in My Store

Walking the Dog

Oil on archival canvas mounted on Dibond permanent board490 x 610mm unframed size$2000.00 with white, custom designed, double frameFOR SALE This is a beautiful scene that I have taken a long time to paint! There is a lot of detail & a lot of interest in this scene which makes it interesting visually but also a challenge to paint, at least I found it so.. I have worked hard at trying to learn to paint clouds which looks easy but it isn’t & I wanted to have a larger percentage of sky in this painting from what I have done

Sweeping Waterfall

Oil on archival canvas mounted on Dibond permanent board450 x 610mm unframed size$1600.00 with white, custom designed, double frameFOR SALE This painting started out as representation of a local waterfall. However, there was too much detail in the shrubbery above the waterfall which made the painting look too “busy” & the waterfall itself was “lost” amongst it all. I used some “artistic license” to make the waterfall the central focus & to bring what I believe is a better balance to the scene. I hope you like it!

Grazing At Molesworth Station

Oil on archival canvas mounted on Dibond permanent board450 x 610mm unframed size$1600.00 with white, custom designed, double frameFOR SALE This is my first painting that has included animals in any detail. I found this scene of two horses grazing at the Molesworth Station to be a very restful but interesting scene with the dramatic mountains in the background as an amazing backdrop to the two horses in the foreground. Molesworth Station is New Zealand’s largest high country station, covering almost half a million acres (185,000 hectares). It is located inland of Blenheim, between the Inland Kaikoura mountains to the

The lake is famous for its reflected views of Aoraki / Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. The excellent reflecting properties are due to the dark brown colour of the water as a result of organic matter leached from the humus of the forest floor.  Dawn and dusk are the best times to enjoy the reflections in the

Sunset at Milford Sounds

Sunset at Milford Sounds Acrylic on archival canvas mounted on board450 x 600mm unframed size$725.00 with large, elegant, high quality wooden frameFOR SALE This scene from the iconic destination that is Milford Sounds is impressive with the colours in the sunset reflecting in the water but also with the diversity of features in the mountains, the bush, the reeds and the stones. It took a long time to paint and I’m not sure that it is possible to capture the beauty of the scene in a two dimensional painting, but it has been a satisfying project. Go to this painting
