In January 2019, the lady owner of Fernielea Café in Coatesville agreed to have my paintings on display as she liked my paintings & believed that having them on her walls would add to the ambiance of the café which they did!
The café changed hands a couple or so years ago & although the new owners back then wanted my paintings to remain, they made a hash of things (in my opinion) & the business closed after only a few months probably two years ago & my paintings had been hanging in a hallway at our home since then.
However, just this week, Wednesday 2nd October, Fernielea Café has opened again back under it’s original name which many in the community are excited about, especially as the café celebrates it’s centenary in 2029.
I visited the café on Thursday, spoke to the owner about having my paintings on display & was asked “how soon can you put them in here?” “Tomorrow” I said & with the help of my wife & three young grandchildren, eight paintings are back on the walls of this quaint café!! Yeah!
Hopefully, this is the motivation I need to finish off my current painting, to rework a couple of earlier paintings & to be encouraged to be more consistent with time at my easel! We will see.
