I have finally started on a new painting! With the help of family, I have chosen to paint a scene from the Wairarapa, the famous Castlepoint Lighthouse.
This is a beautiful scene but one which presents fresh challenges for me, all of which I am looking forward to … I think!
At this stage I have sketched in the various elements of the composition & started “blocking in” the painting which basically means covering all the white of the canvas in a way that defines the various parts of the painting with the finer details being added in the next couple of stages.
